US Shipping, Import Tariff and Delivery Times
The short version: your checkout total covers the product, express shipping, tracking and insurance. US customs charges a tariff of roughly 15% on trading card imports, which your courier (FedEx or DHL) bills you before delivery. Typical delivery is 3 to 6 business days from order to door.

A worked example
Say you order a Japanese booster box for $200:
- Checkout: $200 plus your chosen shipping rate
- Courier bill before delivery: about $30 (15% tariff on the declared value), plus a small carrier processing fee that varies by courier
- Total landed cost: roughly $230 plus shipping
Why is there a tariff at all?
The $800 de minimis exemption ended in August 2025, so trading card imports into the US are now assessed regardless of order size. We declare the full purchase price on customs forms and do not mark orders as gifts or under-declare value; this keeps your package moving through customs without holds and keeps your insurance valid.

US buyer FAQ
Does Rare Cards Japan collect US sales tax or duties at checkout?
No. Import charges are not included in your checkout total. The courier collects the tariff before delivery.
What happens if I don't pay the courier's customs bill?
The package is returned or destroyed by customs, and we cannot refund orders refused at customs. Respond promptly to the courier's payment link and delivery stays on schedule.
Can you mark my order as a gift or declare a lower value?
No. We declare the full purchase price, in compliance with export regulations. This also protects your insurance coverage.
Where do orders ship from?
We source factory-sealed stock from official distributors and dispatch from our Hong Kong facility with express international carriers.
