The New Rarities, Explained
Pirate Crew Super Parallel (KSP)
The headline 4th Anniversary treatment and the reason OP-17 made news outside the usual collector circles. Only two exist in the set: the Luffy (EB04-061) and Rocks.D.Xebec (OP17-118). Pull rates are not officially published, but listings volume suggests they are dramatically scarcer than any manga rare. The Luffy opened around ¥1,000,000 and shop asks have gone far higher.
Super Leader Parallel
A first for the game: a full-art parallel treatment on a Leader card, debuting with Monkey.D.Luffy (OP17-079). Leader parallels give players a reason to chase alongside collectors, which tends to keep prices firm after the opening-weeks hype fades.
Conqueror's Haki treatments
Special reprint treatments of fan favourites, including Zoro, Yamato and Roger cards numbered from earlier sets. These give every box a shot at a three-figure hit even when the top parallels do not show up.
Box and Case Economics
A Japanese OP-17 booster box carries a ¥5,760 MSRP and currently trades around ¥14,700 to ¥16,000. Sealed cases of 12 boxes list around ¥188,000 in the Japanese market. That premium reflects one thing: allocation. Japanese print runs sold through instantly and restock waves have been thin, which is the same pattern OP-15 and OP-16 followed in their first months.
If you are weighing a box against a case, the case maths is simple: 288 packs, 12 shots at the manga-rare slots, and one sealed unit that stays sealed. Our sealed case buying guide covers how collectors decide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the most expensive card in OP-17?
The Monkey.D.Luffy Pirate Crew Super Parallel (EB04-061 [OP17]) leads the set, with marketplace asks starting around ¥900,000 and shop listings well above that as of early October 2026. The Rocks.D.Xebec Super Parallel (OP17-118) is second.
Q: Is OP-17 worth opening at current box prices?
That depends on what you are opening for. At roughly 2.6 times MSRP you are paying for the chance at the anniversary parallels and the five manga-art treatments. Collectors who mainly want the SR and L cards will find singles cheaper than ripping. Sealed collectors tend to hold the box itself, which is why market supply keeps tightening.
Q: Where can I buy Japanese OP-17 boxes and cases?
Rare Cards Japan sources exclusively from official distributors and will carry Japanese OP-17 boxes and sealed cases as allocation arrives. Ask us about timing, or browse the One Piece sealed cases currently in stock.
Q: What is the difference between the Japanese and English OP-17 release?
Japan released on August 22, 2026 and the English edition followed worldwide in late August as part of the simultaneous 4th Anniversary launch. Japanese boxes remain the collector preference for print quality and first-run scarcity, which our Japanese vs English guide explains in detail.
